My storY Part 7

"Please! No no no...Take me instead...don't hurt her.." a woman screamed, hugging a little girl and breaking the eerie silence in the forest.

His eyes shifted, now looking at her. His face perfect, flawless. The glint of his sharp pointed teeth made her shiver. The deep crimson pupils burnt her eyes when she looked at him with fear. The air held still and all she could hear was the beating of her heart. With a smile, he bore into her eyes and plunged deep down into her soul. She opened her eyes to only see herself drowning in lava. She screamed at the top of her lungs but no one was there to help. He laughed softly, watching her writhing in pain. She felt thousands of knife stabbed right through her and left her there to bleed to death. Her skin burnt and the soreness was killing her fast. She felt lightheaded and was going to give up.

"Wait. I'm the one you want. Spare her and her child." A velvet voice came out of nowhere.

She heard those words. The lava seemed to fade off and her sense of sight was recovering. The scene changed back to the dark place. She fell to the ground, gasping for air. The cold air burnt her lungs. Beads of perspiration clouded her sight. She squinted her eyes to look for the source of the voice. In the shadows, a dark figure moved. Not knowing why, she felt hope. The man wasn't looking at her anymore. Instead, he was staring at the shadows. She reached out to hug her child but she wasn't there. Panic and fear engulfed her. It was getting colder. Her breathing accelerated and mist started to form everytime she breathe. She shouted for her child but she couldn't find her. She ran through the forest , fell and stumbled a few times. When she reached a small stream, she saw from far, a streak of light escaping from the thick, vast forest. She sprinted towards the direction and embraced the sunlight.

I woke up with a shock, gasping for air. What was that about? I shook my head and felt a wave of tiredness and with my head hitting the pillow, I drifted off again, not remembering anything...

To be continued...
